June 18th and 19th, 2012
University of Calgary Theater

On behalf of the instructors at Counterpoint Dance and all of our talented dancers, we would like to invite you to our 2012 year-end recitals at the University of Calgary Theater on Monday June 18th and Tuesday June 19th 2012. If your child performs in two or more disciplines of dance she will likely perform in both recitals. The recitals will begin at 6:15 p.m

Please refer to the recital programs to see what date(s) your child performs. The program is NOT the running order of the show, itis simply to indicate what night(s) your child dances. The specific running order of the recitals / programs will be sent to you in May.

Recital Tickets:

Are available through COUNTERPOINT DANCE from now until March 1st. Anyone wishing to attend the recital will require a ticket in order to gain admittance to the theater. Seats are assigned, and we will do our best to sit families together. Fire regulations dictate that children over the age of two years require their own seat and may not sit on a parents lap. Recital tickets go on sale February 2nd through to March 1st. Tickets are sold on a first come basis.

Tickets will be ready for you to pickup in the studio lobby on photo day(s) May 25th and May 26th, times tba. You will be required to bring your tickets to the recital in order to be permitted into the theatre.

Please be aware that ticket orders may not be placed through thestudio after March 1st so if there are any tickets remaining after March 1st they will be sold at the theater one hour prior to each recital.

Please fill out the order form(page 2) here and bring it into the studio office by March 1st. Scanned or emailed copies won’t be processed, thank you for your understanding.

Dress Rehearsal:

The dress rehearsal will be held on FRIDAY June 1st at the Cedarbrae Community commencing at 4:00 p.m. with our 3 and 4 year old Disney Princess classes. Detailed times and scheduling forthcoming.

Recital Video:

Counterpoint is using the services of a professional video company who is able to offer DVD’s of the recitals. They make great keep sakes. Please refer to the attached order form and be sure to indicate which night you are ordering for. Thank you..

Flower For Your Dancer:

A beautiful flower for you to present to your dancer following the recital. Flower will be nicely wrapped and presented with a ribbon. Flowers will not be available for purchase at the theatre and must be pre-ordered by March 10th. Cost of flower is $5.00. Please refer to the attached order form.

Teacher Flower Presentations:

Please help us say a special thank you to all of our wonderful teachers! We ask, if you would like, to make a small contribution so that we may purchase a gift of thanks for each teacher to be presented at the recital. Please be sure to sign the teachers’ cards that will be left out for you on the table in the studio waiting area in June.

Photo Days

Photo days are Friday May 25th *no regular classes at the studio this day, and Saturday May 26th. A detailed photo schedule will be forward to you in the coming months. Dancers are required to wear their costumes and may order photos at a later date. Details will follow.

Costumes

An important element in our year-end recital is the costumes that add color, vibrancy and beauty to the stage. Please note that each dancer will try on their costume during class prior to taking it home. These costumes will fit as to how the teacher wishes them to look. Costumes will be given out in class mid April. A costume dress requirement sheet with information regarding costume, hair, makeup, shoes etc. will go home with the costumes (please check your child’s dance bag).
